Epigenetic “Drivers” of Cancer

چکیده
Genetics is at the basis of cancer initiation and evolution, but emerging evidence indicates that mutations are not sufficient to produce cancer, indicating a role for epigenetic contributions different stages tumorigenesis. While genetic tracks have been widely investigated, “drivers” remain vague definition. Gene-environment interactions can gene-regulatory programs dictate pathogenesis; this implies reciprocal relationship where environmental factors contribute mechanisms tumorigenesis (i.e. mutagenesis) influence cellular response extrinsic stress. In review article, we attempt summarise most remarkable findings demonstrating contribution as proper We also try pose attention on relevance downstream consequences genes versus environment interaction.

Genetic and Epigenetic of Medullary Thyroid Cancer
Medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) is an infrequent calcitonin-producing neuroendocrine tumor that initiates from the parafollicular C cells of the thyroid gland. Several genetic and epigenetic alterations are collaterally responsible for medullary thyroid carcinogenesis. In this review article, we shed light on all the genetic and epigenetic hallmarks of MTC. From the genetic perspective, RET, ...
متن کاملThe importance of epigenetic modifications in cancer progression
Epigenetics are dynamic and inherited changes in the genome that occur independently of DNA sequencing. This phenomenon requires coherent interaction with various enzymes and other molecular components. Abnormal epigenetic changes can lead to the onset of improper gene expression and the promotion of tumorigenesis. Because epigenetic changes are prone to external and reversible factors, they ar...
متن کاملEpigenetic Therapy of Cancer
Together with genetic alterations, aberrant epigenetic regulation of gene expression also plays a major role in the development of many diseases, including cancer. Overall, when compared to normal cells, the genome of malignant cells is characterized by global DNA hypomethylation and histone hypoacetylation. Considering the significance of DNA methylation and histone acetylation in the initiati...

background ovarian cancer is the most common fatal gynecologic malignancy in women. the brca2 gene has a role in regulation of cell cycle during proliferation, differentiation and dna repair. changes in the methylation of brca2 may be an effective mechanism for ovarian cancer. objectives the aim of the present study was to evaluate the association between ovarian cancer and methylation status o...
متن کاملExpression of Some Genes Involved in Epigenetic in Breast Cancer Cell Lines: The Effect of Quercetin
Background & Objectives: Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers among women. Incorrect pattern of gene expression involved in epigenetic including APOBEC3B, DNMT-1, and TET-1 can develop breast cancer. Quercetin is a natural flavonoid with antioxidant and anti-cancer properties that have been reported in other studies. To investigate the effect mechanism of quercetin, this study examin...
